Creativity

Creativity has many levels. There are the simple human levels of making things, ranging from mechanical through to arts and crafts. But there is also an even less tangible aspect of creativity and that is creating on a spiritual level. This aspect is very abstract so bear with me!
The core of creativity is the desire to express. Through this expression we create things that can be shared. The desire can come from emotions such as with songwriting or painting. These more artistic expressions can then touch other people’s emotions.
Within the more spiritual realms of creativity we form and shape our lives. We create relationships, careers and lifestyles. Many don’t accept that we create at this level. They still follow the laws of destiny, fate and karma. Within these two concepts lies the idea that we have no control or say in how our lives will develop, that an over seeing power has already decided each step, or we are paying for decisions from past lives.
This is where one of the major philosophical debates now comes in- so why do we have free will? Is that an illusion? Or are fate and destiny also parts of the human illusion, having provided a handy tool for religions to keep people seeing themselves as puppets of a greater being?
Personally I believe that we are all creators in our own right. We create our lives each and everyday. This can be baffling when we look and question why anyone would choose abuse, illnesses, injuries and grief. But in embracing this you can look forward and feel strength in truly knowing that what lies ahead is what you choose. It frees you from the constraints of society’s expectations. It stops you blaming others for holding you back.
Anything and everything is possible. Look at many people who have been successful in any field. Many of them were rejected, ridiculed and told they would fail. Passion and belief in themselves kept them going and they did truly create amazing things. Not that we all need to create huge companies or become famous! For me it as simple as choosing a joyful and peaceful life. I choose this everyday.
Creating is also about allowing your choice to manifest in anyway possible. Kind of like planting a seed but not standing and watching, expecting certain results at certain times. More like planting the seed and then taking joy from however it turns out. It is allowing the creation it’s own natural flow. Which is the core of any creativity.
Creating is about starting the flow. I heard a story this week about a young girl at university. It was the typical scenario, very little money and many years of study ahead, but she wanted a car and decided she was going to have one. She would come home everyday and say to her parents, “Is my car here yet?” She was determined that she would have a car. She entered every competition for a car that she could find. Within a year she had a car! Her family was saying how amazing it all was, but she wasn’t surprised at all. “I told you I would get a car. I don’t know why you are surprised”
She chose with passion and then started the energies flowing to create her choice. In this same way we can choose and create in our lives everyday.

An Extra Ordinary Life

another great post... now you're getting at the secrets here ...*lol*
The problem for many (as I see it)is in trying to limit the way spirit will manifest the creation... they put out the intention and then start to limit it by this parameter and that parameter... this corner off here and that bit out, there... you know until spirit cannot manifest squat and then it is all too common to hear people say, oh God hates me, or this doesn't work, or must be a curse or bad karma...*snort*
No, as you say, just relax and wait for spirit to show the wonders of a real miracle...but only if it's in keeping with your highest good... so many people pray for simplicity and then try to manifiest things and people that will complicate their lives... turmoil - oh, and you have to keep your mind open...tricky...that's what really makes many of my clients balk!
hell, sometimes I'm still grapling with that one myself.... who doesn't?

I've often thought of the "choosing" process of creating our lives. Many, like you say, reject that notion because they don't want to think they chose an abusive situation or a difficult path. However, if you look at life as a platform where the spirit can experience physical sensations, it makes perfect sense, although I had to have help in realizing that.
Years ago, I was extremely ill with cancer. After two years of having invasive, painful procedures and surgeries, I finally was given a hysterectomy at the age of twenty-five. I was instructed to go back to the doctor every three months for the rest of my life. I refused. I decided I'd rather die than go through that kind of pain and discomfort - and it wasn't just me suffering. My children were watching me die a slow death and I didn't want that for them. From the moment I awoke from that final surgery, I vowed never to go to a modern doctor again.
As a desparate final answer, I sought out an Ayurvedic specialist. She was an amazing woman who was the first to acknowledge that I, as well as my children, were "gifted". She introduced me to the concept of Indigo Children (which is another subject all together, so I won't get hung up on it here). During one of my consultations with her, I broke down and cried regretful tears for all the things in my life I'd been through and how afraid I was of other people's opinions of me. It was a fear I didn't know I had.
She said she couldn't and wouldn't judge where I'd been or what I'd done because she believes that we're meant to experience everything and use several lifetimes to do so. Her words, "If I haven't done it yet, I've done it before, and if I haven't done it before, I'm bound to do it in the future." Her theory is that each soul will experience EVERY circumstance available to man - we'll each take a turn being rich; we'll each take a turn being poor; we'll each be every race, gender, religion, and lifestyle. But even her theory doesn't leave much room for "choice" in creating our lives since we're bound to choose every option eventually.
I don't know for certain if our souls are in some sort of pergatory, writing out in great detail how our next life will be lived. However, I definitely believe that once we're here, we choose how our lives will unfold - and that leads me right back to the heaven/hell subject we tickled in another post. I believe Heaven and Hell are states of mind - the optimist is in heaven; the pessimist is in Hell. We can wake up with intent to celebrate each day, or to dread the day ahead. We can choose to persist or give up. We can choose to explore, or to restrict ourselves to familiarity zones. In this way, I believe very much in spiritual creation. I believe 100% that what happens in our external environment is a direct reflection of what we're experiencing internally - hence, my quote, "Believe good things; what you believe becomes."
Great topic.
